If your site included search engine crawlers then you site will be found by many others and in that way your website gets a boost in its rankings so it should include: keyword and key search phrases, titles, content that is updated, inbound links and HTML along with various coding tags.
You can begin be making a list of all the keywords pertaining to your site and then re-list them by how important they are. The content should be not only original and informative, but unique in a way to set you apart from the others.
Your content should also be pertaining to your keywords because just placing them anywhere will get you into trouble. Back links too will raise your search engine rankings. These will also make it easier for those searching to find their way to your blog. Check back to your links after a few months as sometimes they can be broken, and that is not good for your site or your ratings.
